Chinese Paparazzi

Everywhere we went, people wanted to take our picture or be in a picture with us. It was surprising because we're not exactly blond, although Jeff and Jake do have blue eyes. We finally figured out that most of the people who were asking us were from smaller cities or the country and had never seen "white" people in real life.

It made me remember when some visitors to Moscow from Kazakhstan saw Jeff open the garage door with the remote. They were so amazed and said, "You can see everything in Moscow!" I wonder if the Chinese people feel the same about Beijing--You can see everything in Beijing--even pasty white people with freckles!"
