Incredible Israel. 
I can't even describe my feelings from the first day. We met our guide, Joseph, a Christian who grew up in the Old City of Jerusalem.
First stop was the wilderness of Judea. It looked so unlike what I had pictured in my mind. If you look just to the left of my head, you see a darker line. It's a line of trees growing near water, and probably is the pathway that Jesus and other travelers walked to get to Jerusalem.
On to Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus.
Looking down on a section of the city. This is hard to tell from the picture, but under this grate about 6 feet down, is a section of the city of Nazareth that has been excavated. The "street" is so narrow--it looks like the space between buildings is less than 5 feet.
